Description

ESP32-Stick is a versatile open-source development board based on the ESP32-WROOM chip, designed for reliable and stable projects requiring Ethernet connectivity and Power over Ethernet (PoE) support. Itโ€™s ideal for smart home, automation, and IoT applications.

This board was created as part of a successful Kickstarter campaign and is available in three versions:

  • ESP32-Stick โ€“ base model without PoE

  • ESP32-Stick-POE-P โ€“ supports passive PoE (9โ€“57 V)

  • ESP32-Stick-POE-A โ€“ supports active PoE (44โ€“57 V)

Key Features:

  • ESP32-WROOM microcontroller (WiFi + Bluetooth)

  • 17 available GPIO pins (Ethernet uses separate pins)

  • USB-C connector for power and programming

  • CH340G USB-UART converter (no external programmer needed)

  • LAN8720A Ethernet chip

  • USER LED (GPIO2), reset and user button (GPIO0)

  • Flash memory: 16 MB

  • All versions share the same size, pinout, and CPU โ€“ easy to swap

  • Compatible with Arduino IDE, PlatformIO, ESPHome, ESPEasy

  • Pin headers included (unsoldered)

Power Options:

  • USB-C (5V)

  • External input: 3.3V or 5V

  • ESP32-Stick-POE-P: Passive PoE 9โ€“57 V (with Si3404 chip, 5V/2A output)

  • ESP32-Stick-POE-A: Active PoE 44โ€“57 V (with Si3404-A chip, 5V output)

Highlights:

  • Reliable Ethernet connectivity (more stable than WiFi for many use cases)

  • Plug-and-play programming with built-in USB-UART

  • Power via Ethernet (PoE) โ€“ no need for extra power adapters

  • Fully software-compatible across all board versions

  • Great for wired projects or industrial setups
